Holding Series 65 and life and health insurance licenses, Garret Ward has 16+ years of experience in the financial services industry. “My two best friends and I started SBG Advisory Group to bring honest financial advice to those looking for it. I have been in the industry since 2003, and Brian Anderson and Scott Hodson are two financial advisors that I trust and want to be in business with for years to come.”

Garret’s relationships grow stronger and stronger every year, and he feels he helps clients by giving them direction and peace of mind with their finances. “No two people are alike—some people owe millions while others have millions. It is up to us to find the right custom plan that fits their unique needs. We specialize in doing custom planning for each individual along with finding them the perfect investments and strategies that fit their parameters,” he says.

Garret says it is important for clients to get a different perspective from their own on their financial situation, but warns that they should find someone who understands the financial services industry. “I feel that most advisors are just out there pushing their favorite products and don’t really even care or ask the right questions to see if there is a fit for their clients. We don’t sell products, we “sell” solutions! In other words, I am going to put together a strategy first and then find the products that will best accomplish my client’s goals, not mine.

“My objective every time I sit down with someone is to enhance their current situation. I want them to end them up with more money than they were headed toward before we sat down to meet. And I want to do that without a cost to their budget and do that with no or even less risk than they currently have,” Garret says.

He never plans to retire from his profession, because it’s not work to him – he is creating lasting friendships and making a difference in people’s lives. As Garret puts it, “I love when my clients and I come up with a plan that works and when they stick with it. I also love when we become friends! My number one desire is to see clients succeed in their goals.”

Garret has been married to his beautiful wife for 18 years; they have 3 boys, ages 16, 14 and 10. One of his favorite things in this world is spending time with his family, and he enjoys the outdoors, hunting, golfing and running.
